Canada Day: Justin Bieber, Ryan Reynolds, & More Celebrate!

Oh, Canada! July 1 is Canada Day and many of the biggest stars in music, television, movies and sports come from that wonderful country. In honor of Canada’s birthday, celebrities like Justin Bieber, Ellen Page and more shared their Canadian pride on social media!

July 1, 2015 marks the 148th Canada Day and the country’s native sons and daughters decided to celebrate in style! From Justin Bieber, 21, sending his love to the Great White North from Down Under, to Ellen Page, 28, and her enthusiastic Canada Day message — everyone was getting in on the action! Let’s check in on some of your favorite celebs as they honor America’s awesome neighbor of the north!

Justin sent his message while he was in Australia, and thanks to the magic of time-zones, he celebrated Canada Day ahead of just about everybody! Ryan Reynolds joked about the holiday, tweeting “Happy Canada Day, America. You earned it!” Ellen Page was more sincere, wishing “HAPPY CANADA DAY” to all her “FELLOW CANUCKS!” And, you wouldn’t know it under his helmet, but Deadmau5 is Canadian, and he celebrated today well!

They weren’t alone. Canadians like Stephen Amell, Shenae Grimes, Eric McCormack and Canadian Prime Minster Stephen Harper took part in the festivities! Even the British Monarchy honored the day with pictures of Queen Elizabeth II visiting Canada throughout the years! Any Canadian would be happy to tell you that Canada Day marks the anniversary of the Constitution Act that united three British colonies into the country we now know as Canada. Though it was originally called Dominion Day, it was renamed in 1982, the year that Canada achieved sovereignty. So, if you know a Canadian, be sure to wish their country a Happy Birthday today!
